Jerry’s Top Albums of 2020
Here’s my always-late best of 2020. Most of my time (and money) was spent buying up vinyl of everything I’ve cared about over the years and not listening to a lot of new stuff on Spotify. Usually I freak out about missing something new, but last year I was happy with stuff that made me feel good. There is a lot of stuff I liked that I didn’t get on vinyl, a lot from friends—Craig Greenberg, Cronin, Casey Neil, John Murry, Chuck Prophet, DBTs, The New Ok—and I loved a lot of reissue stuff—Sign O the Times, etc. So in the spirit of vinyl (with the exception of the Taylor Swift which is too good not to mention but not for $60 or whatever on Amazon), these are my favorites from 2020 that I own on wax. The only one in order is my number one record because Haim simply fucking rule and their record is brilliant, every note.
