I’ve been so excited about getting back to High Sierra Music Festival (and heartbroken Roy won’t be there, physically at least) I played the first one... and it’s always been a sign post for me of where the decades took me, I’ll be solo... which I still find scary…

On Friday, I walk off stage, into Carison’s car... we drive to SFO, where I board an 11 pm flight to Heathrow. Landing at 4:30pm, into a car service to Suffolk... where I’ll play the last Saturday night slot at Maverick Festival… followed the next day where I close out the fest...
Obviously, Maverick must be pretty important to me… Besides being a super dope Americana fest... curated by my friend Paul Spencer and his Wife (and in some other dimension my sister) Pippa… I’ll be among some of my best friends in the music biz... The Dimpker Brothers, Casey Neill, Our Man in the Field, Walter Salas Humara, Ella Spencer and the energizer bunny of violin, Chris Murphy… all of whom (for the love of god) will be performing with me... assuming my Adderall script comes in time… these are all musicians that not only know my material, but I hold close as good friends... so I’m pretty excited…

BORN IN 2008, THE MAVERICK FESTIVAL IS THE UK’S FIRST AND FINEST AMERICANA MUSIC EVENT AND A BEACON FOR ROOTS MUSIC FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE ATLANTIC.
The festival is set amongst the restored Victorian barns and out-buildings of Easton Farm Park, nestled deep in the Suffolk countryside yet only two hours from London, presenting musical performances, dance demonstrations and music masterclasses from over fifty different artists across six stages, indoors and out.
The music begins on Friday at 5pm and runs until around 11.30pm. Saturday’s programme starts at 10.30am and finishes around 11.30pm. Sunday is altogether more relaxed beginning around 10.30am and running until approximately 2.30pm.

Then, after a few days in London, I’ll join Casey as his guest at the Green Note... My last show there was sold out... so get tickets now blah blah blah... then, I’m headed to Madrid... look for a pop up show there… I’m going to miss being with my family at OCF… tho, while I liked working for Teri selling ice... it’d just be fucking weird to be there and not play (clearly the massive psilocybin heroic dose to wipe away my ego, didn’t take)... Once back in Portland it’s time for the first annual Out West Music Fest in Gaston and the JMOS are finally playing The Ruins in Hood River!

The Out West Music Fest is a mid-summer gathering of good vibes and great music at beautiful Dundee Lodge in Gaston, Oregon. Our aim is to bring good people and good music together for a weekend of sunshine, moonshine, strumming, picking, dancing… simply a real good time.
Just a short drive from Portland, Dundee Lodge is the perfect setting to carry forward the vibe and sense of community we’ve all experienced at other festivals over the years.

It’s going to be one for the books in VC... and I believe we’ve already filled a few books up there…
